Summary:
The Construction Laborer performs a variety of tasks involving physical labor at building, commercial, and industrial
projects, and demolition sites. They may include cleaning and preparing a job site, loading and delivering materials and using a variety of tools and machines, such as forklifts, levels, lifts,
power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers and water spraying equipment. Laborers set up and take down ladders, scaffolding and other temporary structures. They help carpenters, masons and other
specialized contractors.

Laborer Duties and Responsibilities
- Cleaning and disposing of materials on construction sites; In charge of preparing and restoring construction sites
- Restoring/Cleaning tools used
- Transporting, loading and unloading different materials to the places they are required to get dumped.
- Carrying out the restoration and repair of damaged structures by using tools both to build and deconstruct
buildings.
- Handling most of the hand tools (handsaws for example) and power tools, as well as operating machinery like man-lifts and skid
steers.
- Assembling scaffoldings
- Determining defects on sites
- Ordering for supplies and installing hardware.
- Measuring, marking, and recording of distances to have an idea of the layout of areas where construction work will be
performed.
- Build/remodel/restore/repair buildings as directed by Management and Leads.
Construction Laborer Skills
and Specifications
- Good knowledge of science and drawings. Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of
houses, buildings, or other structures such as pole barns and pre-engineered buildings.
- Basic or advanced math skills
- Manual dexterity, physical strength, hand-eye coordination and endurance
- Ability to work with different building materials and machines
- Ability to operate the a variety of simple and complex tools
- Side item: Must be able to work flexible hours as needed and be available for emergency call-in.
- The ability to understand and communicate information is also essential. The ability to read and/or understand written
and/or verbal policy, instruction and directions.

Construction Laborer
Education and Qualifications
- On-the-job training is most ideal for the construction equipment operators but they may also enroll in a vocational
program.
- Though no formal degree is imperative, but adequate skill in this field is highly imperative.
